There are some good ideas here that deserved to be in a better game, but as it stands right now, Martha is Dead is a frustrating experience that fails to do justice to those ideas. In this Video we are playing a Psychological Horror Game Called Martha Is Dead on PS5 in 4K. The setting is beautiful and lovingly crafted, but actually playing the game often feels like a chore for one reason or the other. ![]() The narrative premise is unique and makes its distinct elements work together surprisingly well, but it’s pacing might very well turn you away if you don’t have the patience (or inclination) to stick with it. The story as a whole is a series of rug pulls, but ones which left me standing nonplussed while the rug puller lurched haphazardly from foot to foot. Thoughts- Martha Is Dead has a lot going for it, but it often gets in its own way. Still not ideal but playable if it's your only choice. Her twin sister must alone deal with the acute trauma of loss, while the truth of the brutal murder is shrouded by mysterious folklore and the extreme horror of war which draws ever closer. Not as bad as it originally sounded like it would be censored really. As conflict intensifies between German and Allied forces, the body of a woman is found drowned. I am waiting for the game to pick up the pace but it never seems too. Looks like two scenes had interactivity removed to make them cutscenes, and dialogue around the topic of masturbation was removed. It feels so slow-paced even for an atmospheric horror game. There are weird moments in the game and sections that just are not fun or scary and feel pointless. ![]() One of the best looking indie horror games that I have seen in years. The setting feels really authentic and immerses me in it's world. The setting feels really Good- The narrative's premise and the story it sets up is one of the most inriguing I have played in years.
